The One Accessory That Was Just About Everywhere This Month

There’s something unquestionably timeless about a silk scarf. It is the kind of accessory that transcends generations. It feels just as relevant in my grandmother’s closet as it does in my own. While the item is indeed a classic, for some, it’s regarded as a staple that feels a little too prim and proper to wear on a regular basis. I, for one, keep my favourite silk scarf hanging on a wall as room decoration, rather than wearing it day-to-day.

However, if Paris Fashion Week is any indication, it is clear that the fashion set is championing the item's return to must-wear status, as street style images were dotted with brightly coloured iterations. Whether they were tied to handbags or draped over the shoulders of chic attendees, silk scarves were just about everywhere.

When it comes to the accessory, much of their appeal lies in its versatility. The same one scarf can be used to adorn your hair babushka style, embellish a handbag or simply add a little extra flair to a relatively minimal outfit. (See Camille Charriere’s look below for proof.)

Whichever way you choose to style it, one thing is clear: It's time to pull our scarves out from the back of our wardrobes and start wearing them once again. Keep scrolling for four fresh ways to wear a silk scarf, courtesy of the street style set.
