Hi, Who What Wear UK readers!
Whether statement or simple, tees are an undeniable spring/summer wardrobe staple—and there are endless ways to style them, from a casual day look to an evening out. I live in T-shirts.
You can venture away from the classic jeans and a T-shirt combo: Switch the jeans for a dress to create a layered day-to-night look or team a good statement tee with a pair of trousers for a meeting. But the first step is finding a tee that shows your personality. You can see a few of my favourite names in fashion feature on, as well as in, my collection: From Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld's face prints through to my bold Moschino by Jeremy Scott logo jersey. Just let your tee do the talking this season.
Read on to see how I've styled my wardrobe's top T-shirts…
This is my oldest tee from the collection. I teamed Karl with a simple pair of slim navy trousers—a perfect look for a casual casting. I love the colours of the tee against the navy, and although the T-shirt is fun, the overall look is clean and simple. These kind of novelty pieces aren't just for teens!
By now you may have guessed that it is Mr. Marc Jacobs adorning the T-shirt that I've teamed with a patent A-line miniskirt. This is an outfit I would wear in a heartbeat to an event, as I love feeling comfortable but not over- or under-dressed.
T-shirts don't have to be designer or serious, and that's why I love this particular one. I tied it at the side so it looks slightly more fitted and teamed it with my high-waisted frayed jeans for a casual, weekend look. So people will know I'm not only on fleek, but also the CEO of it!
Layering a T-shirt with a dress is a big trend right now, but I really love the fact that my slip is sheer enough for you to be able to see the design of my tee underneath. Sheer or silk fabrics are the best choice for finding an easy way to create a polished look that can last you from day to night.
