When it comes to the world's highest-paid models, we thought Gisele would be the one to hold the title for the foreseeable future. And yet, the model giving her a real run for her money isn't even human—it's Karl Lagerfeld's prized feline friend, Choupette. (Say what? Keep reading...)
According to a new article in Vogue U.K., for just two days of work last year, Choupette netted $3.27 million. As a point of comparison, Cara Delevingne made about $3.5 million in all of 2014.
Friendly reminder: We're talking about a cat here. So who exactly is signing the feline's paychecks? Choupette took home a good chunk of change from her makeup collaboration with Shu Uemura, and also posed for a shoot (styled by Carine Roitfeld, no less) with the 2015 Opel Corsa car calendar.
Is it sad that a cat made more money than most people will ever make in their lives? Absolutely, and it's also straight-up bizarre. Obviously, any funds she nets are going straight to daddy Karl, but there's just something overtly ostentatious about paying a cat millions of dollars to do anything.
What do you think of Choupette's insane earnings? Sound off in the comments below!
