The H&M Knits That Look Much More Expensive Than They Are

It's not always easy to find knitwear on the high street, and I've come across plenty of duds in my time, however, it feels as though some brands are starting to step up their knitwear game with premium-feeling fabrics and expensive-looking silhouettes. H&M, in particular, seems to be acing their winter warmer offering right now, and it feels like every time I ask someone where their jumper is from they say H&M.

So what it is that makes a jumper look expensive? Everyone has their own specifications when it comes to knitwear, but personally I look for relatively simple silhouettes combined with chunky textures and unusual colourways. Also, if you want to go all-out, you can't go wrong with a statement sleeve, which is a more subtle yet oh-so-chic alternative to eye-popping prints.

My highlights from the H&M collection have to be the alpaca-blend zip-up (seen in the above image), which will feel suitably '70s when paired with dark denim flares and platform boots. The cable-knit collection is also excellent, and I've spotted a few people in the brand's chunky crew-neck cable knit, both in cream and khaki (just add to a midi dress and combat boots).
