I Sifted Through Hundreds of H&M Products to Bring You 28 Standout Items

It has to be said: H&M is truly having a brilliant summer. Some of my favourite recent purchases (and the ones that have invited the most compliments) have been from the store, and whether I'm looking for a statement party dress or a simple white tee, H&M has consistently proven itself as a reliable go-to.

In the last month alone, the brand has won us over with some seriously impressive pieces, from an expensive-looking linen collection to the slip dresses and slim-fit tailoring we need to nail '90s minimalism, so it's fair to say there is always something for everyone in its varied line-up.

With the hottest summer on record currently kicking into gear, there is no better time to think about your high-summer wardrobe, and for what can be the most difficult time of year to dress for, H&M has an impressive roster of new-in pieces that have caught my attention. Some are smart pieces to help keep you cool in the city or abroad, and some are just the exciting kind of purchase that you can't help but swoon over. (And for sheer practicality, there are also some great finds for your transitional wardrobe that will work for next season, too.)

So if you're on the hunt for some head-turning pieces at a price that won't break the bank, keep scrolling to see all of the highly covetable items on my wish list right now.

I haven't stopped thinking about this dress and its designer-looking silhouette since I first saw it. Although I predominantly live in flats, this is a dress special enough to convince me to dust off my party heels.

Vibrant colour? Check. Heatwave-proof hemline? Check. Consider this shirt dress your easiest instant outfit when the temperatures rise.

Summer calls for strappy sandals, and the braided detail makes this pair unique.

Cotton, linen, towelling—my collection of shorts is steadily building, but this tailored pair deserves a place in my wardrobe and yours, as they're perfect for dressing up while keeping cool.

Having seen this top in-store and online, I can confirm that the quality is just as good as it looks. A thick, slightly elasticated knit that sculpts and creates a flattering shape.

Another example of how attention to detail makes H&M's dresses look far more expensive than their high-street price tag. Wedding guest dress, anyone?

A Who What Wear wardrobe staple in functional linen that you'll wear for years to come.

The '90s have spoken, and flatforms are still the cool girl's sandal du jour.

It's easy to see why these slides are part of H&M's Premium Selection. Each detail from the square toe to the knotted leather has the luxury finish of a pair of shoes 10 times their price.

This premium-quality silk shirt is an online exclusive, so act quickly to get your hands on one of the lightest, smoothest shirts you didn't realise you needed.

I wore a pleated skirt on holiday with bikini tops and over a swimming costume, and it will get just as much wear back in the office with a blazer.

These shoes are your sign to call your friends and make plans. These are too good not to be seen.

At Who What Wear, we love easy-to-wear dresses with minimal fuss but maximum impact, and this voluminous gathered dress ticks every box.

This skirt comes in no less than six colours and prints, so all you really need to build countless outfit options are a couple of tops and shirts, and your weekend uniform is sorted.

Busy weekends call for a relaxed fit and drawstring waist.

The oversized shape of this mini means it's not only a well-ventilated choice but also an ideal cover-up if you're packing for your holiday.

There are simply no excuses for badly designed, unsupportive swimwear. Instead, we're all about championing lines in inclusive size ranges that look as good as they feel.

Is there any better piece of transitional clothing than the shacket? Wear it open over your summer dress, and as soon as autumn creeps in, button it up over a maxi skirt, and add a waist belt for good measure.

There's still something timeless and impossibly chic about a wide-brim, floppy sun hat.

Layered chains are the micro jewellery trend we'll be taking into next season.

The crochet dress is making waves on social media for its versatility as a cover-up and the fashion set's day dress of choice whether home or away.

You heard it here first: Cargo trousers are about to be everywhere, so get ahead of the crowd in H&M's khaki iteration.

Satin and stripes—what's not to love?

Blazers are always a winner in our book, whether over a dress, a T-shirt or even with cycling shorts, this chic way to make any outfit look more polished just got even better in a straight-cut cotton blend.
