I've Already Decided Which Outfit I'm Going to Live in This Autumn

While scrolling through all the new-in sections of my favourite brands, it’s hard not to get excited about the onset of autumn. Slowly but surely, knits, boots and coats are popping up again, and all I can think about is crisp walks and cosy layers (ironically, as I sit sweltering in this final heatwave).

Recently, though, there’s been one outfit in particular I’ve spotted both Arket and H&M backing (and you know it’s good if those brands are on it). It’s the knitted trouser co-ord—flared trousers to be exact—and I’m pleased to report I already know it’s going to be my most-worn look for the season. Yes, I’ll wear some dresses and a fair few jeans-and-blazer outfits, but for those relaxed weekends and working from home, this couldn’t be better.

The key is that not only are these sets comfortable but the coordination keeps them feeling really elevated, too, so you can trick people into thinking you’ve put effort into your outfit when in fact it’s the easiest thing to throw on. They'll work perfectly under a trench coat or a blazer with your favourite chunky boots, and I bet you could even dress them up with heeled boots for nights at the pub, too.

Arket has an incredibly chic bouclé option that comes in cream and black and will undoubtedly be spotted on the minimalist influencer set any day now, while H&M has a ribbed stripey one, which all our editors have just added to their baskets. Keep scrolling to join the club.
