These 3 Pairs of High-Street Ankle Boots Are Selling Like Crazy Already
Last year, I bought a pair of black Mango ankle boots (the ones with the curvy heels and toe caps pictured on Eunice Abe below) and wore them all autumn long—right on into winter and then a few times more in the spring. I had purchased them pretty early on in the season (around about this time) and didn't live to regret it. Although I'm barely out of sandals and probably will try to have bare legs and open toes for as long as is physically possible, now's the time to buy those ankle boots you've fallen in love with because they sell out fast, and there's no guaranteeing they'll come back in stock.

It's already happening: Only last week did a pair of Marks and Spencer lace-up boots capture our editors' attention and promptly start selling by the truckload once we featured them. Even my mum has a pair, and is thrilled at how neat, chic and comfortable they are. I'm also tempted to join the fan club, but there are a couple other styles luring me in.
We've seen a growing interest in a pair of hiking boots from & Other Stories (both Kat of Wears My Money and Tracey Lea Sayer of Trays Lounge are backing them, and they always select practical, cool footwear styles you can live in). Topshop has even reported to us that a simple pair of mid-heeled zip-up ankle boots are currently selling like crazy.
So keep scrolling to see these wonder-boots in action and shop them for yourself.
TOPSHOP'S MARGOT BOOTS
When Topshop lands on a perfect pared-back shoe, boot or sandal, you just know they won't hang around for long. We've seen summertime success via its strappy sandals, but now these ultra-minimal low-heeled Margot ankle boots (which come in both black and burgundy) have piqued shoppers' interests. They're leather and unlined (a trend I'm noticing across the high street), which means they're less stiff to wear in and sit snugly on your ankle. I'm crossing my fingers for a tan version, as that's what I really need.
MARKS AND SPENCER COLLECTION'S LEATHER LACE-UP ANKLE BOOTS
The Who What Wear team are superfans of these retro-looking little lace-up boots from M&S, and it would appear our readers are too. They're very comfortable, rendered in leather (some M&S styles are not) and come in a range of neutral, super-useful colourways. Great with jeans, perfect with skirts and dresses. Nothing to not love here.
& OTHER STORIES' CHUNKY HIKING BOOTS
I think fashion director Tracey's Instagram caption sums it up: "I haven't stopped thinking about these bad boys since I saw them on @wearsmymoney blog a couple of weeks ago," she says, justifying their slightly higher price point with the fact that they're very comfortable and butter-soft. We think that if you've been in Tevas all summer long, this one pair of boots will be the easiest transitional piece to get you into the swing of autumn. And if you like your hiking boots to be pretty too (which they can), check out the baby-pink pair below.
Next up, what London girls are wearing IRL.
