We might be only just transitioning into spring outfits, however, due to fashion week, buyers and editors have already moved onto the autumn/winter 2021 collections. This week, Gucci presented its collection over in Milan and left no doubt about what will be its hero bag in 2021. Almost every look featured a pastel-hued Jackie bag.
The handbag was initially named after Jackie Kennedy and has been a hero Gucci item. And guess what? It is being re-released this year. The Jackie 2.0 has the signature shoulder strap and gold clasp across the body of the handbag, but instead of using statement logo or floral prints, these Jackies were all in simple buttery-soft leather. The colour palette also isn't quite so quiet, as you'll find the new bags are in powder blues, lilacs and rosy pinks. (Mr Harry Styles will certainly approve.)
This rerelease is certain to increase the value of any original vintage Jackies, but right now, you can currently find dozens of them on resale sites like Vestiaire Collective. If you want a Jackie, now is the time to buy a vintage version, as I've found several for under £200.
