Rita Ora

Music experts we are not, but when Jay-Z names someone his protégé, we can safely assume that person is a musician we should know about. Joining that exclusive list of talented artists is our Girl of the Month, captivating singer-songwriter Rita Ora! The British beauty has become one of our favourite songstresses as of late, thanks to her uber-fun pop vocals--she recently finished touring with Coldplay and her hit single "How We Do (Party)" is available now on iTunes--and enviable individual sense of style. It's the latter, a perfect blend of urban-chic sensibilities and a funky cool aesthetic, that has us turning the spotlight on Ora today and showing you just how easy it is to channel her unforgettable look!

At Events/On the Streets
It doesn't take a savvy sartorialist to see that Ora embraces a fun and fearless approach to dressing; her oft-eccentric and fashion-forward ensembles are a big indication! We were particularly thrilled with the look she put together for a performance at BBC Radio One in London last month. The singer stepped out in a Kokon to Zai Printed jacket and matching harem trousers, which featured an intriguing futuristic print, paired with Nike Jordan sneakers resulting in an eye-catching tomboy outfit (middle image). In keeping with Ora's borrowed-from-the-boys, laid-back sense of style, we'd also like to point out the '90s-inspired ensemble she wore out in London earlier this year (bottom, right image). Ora's masterful, biker-meets-grunge styling consisted of a leather jacket worn with a button-up blouse, a flannel shirt-tied strategically around her waist-distressed jeans, and Christian Louboutin pumps. Of course, Ora does have a more polished side too, as demonstrated by the white Hussein Chalayan suit from the S/S 12 collection and B Brian Atwood nude pumps she wore at the NME Awards in London back in February (top, right image). Though the Bianca Jagger-influenced look is a complete 180 from her wild off-duty choices, the outcome was sophisticated, chic, and equally noteworthy!

Want to inject some Ora panache into your wardrobe? Lucky for you, it's a cinch to do-just snag a few items from today's fashion roundup, and we promise you'll be assembling effortlessly cool ensembles!

Get Her Look
Tucker Sleeveless Dress ($334) in Chevron Cart Wheel
While the zippy pattern featured on this sleeveless silk dress boasts plenty of stage presence-a quality our GOTM is sure to appreciate-the waist-cinching tie makes it flattering for all body types. Temper the bold print with a black leather jacket for an edgy-chic party ensemble.

3.1 Phillip Lim Vendetta Mini Flat Crossbody Bag ($695)
If, like Ora, you prefer your clothes to do all the talking, we recommend going for a bag on the simpler side. 3.1 Phillip Lim's Vendetta Mini Flat Crossbody Bag, with its petite size and sleek front flap design, is just the sort of fuss-free carrier we're talking about; it's perfect for after-hours affairs or weekend jaunts. Price tag too high? No worries, DKNY's Beekman Lizard Leather Flap Mini Crossbody Bag ($215) is a splendid option that won't bust your budget.

MINKPINK Donatella Print Bodysuit ($54)
Surely our GOTM has a sultry side, which is precisely why we think she would snag this Versace-inspired MINKPINK bodysuit in a heartbeat. While Ora might style the fitted one-piece with a pair of relaxed jeans and sneakers, you can also give the baroque pattern a modern and ladylike twist by wearing it with a peplum skirt.

DKNY Ramie-Blend Circle Skirt ($275)
You can channel Ora's feminine sensibilities too with the help of this brightly hued skirt by DKNY! At once both playful and elegant, this circle-cut mini mimics Ora's sartorial sensibilities to a T, and offers an easy and stylish way to punch up your between-seasons ensembles.

BDG Destructed Boyfriend Jean ($69)
When choosing the right pair of denim for Ora, we needed to consider a few important factors: relaxed fit, light wash, and distressed detailing. Happily, BDG's very affordable Destructed Boyfriend Jeans have all of those qualities, and are a sure way to give your weekend outfits a touch of Ora's tough-girl vigour.

Juicy Couture Pave Link Bracelet ($98) in Gold
While we're not 100 per cent sure that our GOTM is a diamonds kind of girl, we do know that she appreciates her little luxuries, hence our inclusion of Juicy Couture's gold Pave Link Bracelet. With just a hint of sparkle, this chain-link bauble is equal parts glam and edgy--just like Ora!

Giuseppe Zanotti High-Top Sneakers ($775)
Given Ora's fondness for high-fashion kicks, we'd be remiss if we didn't include this sprightly pair from Giuseppe Zanotti. Complete with an assortment of hot hues, zippers, and silver studs, these anything-but-ordinary high-top sneakers were obviously made with a fashion-forward girl in mind. We also suggest Converse's Marimekko All-Star Premium Multicolored Sneakers ($109), which have just as much personality without the major financial commitment.

Vanessa Bruno Crepe Jacket ($607, 323.655.5310) in Ivory
The polished Ora we know from afar is bound to love this Vanessa Bruno jacket. It does look strikingly similar to her Hussein Chalayan suit jacket, after all! We're also coveting this piece because 1) it is truly comfortable and 2) it will instantly pull together any outfit, giving you a chic and sophisticated finish every time.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick ($22) in Hot Pink
From luscious blonde locks to bold red lips, Ora's beauty look is downright desirable! To help you mimic her alluring pout, we'd like to direct you to Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Hot Pink. The creamy, highly-pigmented colour gives your lips a hydrating pop of colour that lasts up to six hours!--Jessica Baker
