If there is a singular shoe designer currently most beloved by celebrities from Chrissy Teigen to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and everyone in between, it's Gianvito Rossi. The Italian footwear maestro crafts some of the most beautiful shoes on the market, and the entire Who What Wear team is literally obsessed.
You can imagine our excitement, then, when we had the privilege of chatting one on one with Rossi himself. He hosted a cocktail party in his honour at the Beverly Hills location of Barneys New York, and we had to know: What does he think is the best way for women to be as comfortable as possible in high heels?
"First of all, I don't think the higher the heel, the better the look," Rossi told us. "It's not about the shoe being sky high; it's really a matter of shape, of silhouette, and the way the shoe is made—the curves, how it moves. The high heel is my favourite shoe, and I know it's not the most comfortable, but it should at least be manageable. I think it's very important that women can really walk in their shoes pleasantly, feeling well and good. And it reflects: They smile instead of crying after an hour in heels. It's important!"
You heard it from Rossi himself: Sometimes, a more moderate heel height is the way to go—and you aren't necessarily sacrificing style with lower heels. Keep scrolling to shop some of our favourite Gianvito Rossi heels now!
