The Frankie Shop knows a thing or two about creating a cult wardrobe item. The brand, started in New York’s Lower East Side in 2014 by a Parisian founder (a power combo of cool to say the least), pretty much went viral from day one with its minimalist yet confident aesthetic that fashion people still can’t get enough of. From the ubiquitous quilted jacket that’s become a firm capsule staple to the instantly recognisable slouchy tailoring, we’ve come to expect great things from The Frankie Shop with each new season. For some brands, that pressure could be a curse, but not this one. The pieces just keep getting better and better without fail.

Maybe it’s because the brand tends to focus on perfecting a few hero items that are made to last rather than releasing extensive short-term collections, or it could be because the brand seems to be able to read into what we all truly want to wear. Released in four colours, the Astra Shell Jacket is the modern twist on a classic we didn’t even know we needed. And since the bomber is set to be huge news again this season and beyond, we’re predicting a sell-out soon enough.
