Sure, we do a lot of shopping here at Who What Wear. Does it border a shopping obsession? Maybe. But that's a story for another day. As much as we love to shop and share our favorite shopping recommendations with you, it's important to do a little research before going all in. While we can't help you with big purchases like buying a house or a car, if your fall wardrobe is on your mind, then we absolutely have you covered.

In the last couple of weeks, we've written about the fall colors that are already leading the pack, the key handbags everyone's after, the fall trends a Vogue Paris editor is wearing and so much more. So what’s next on the fall fashion front? Sweaters, of course.

This year, the F/W 21 runways gave us three knitwear trends that stood out above the rest by a landslide. So if you’re getting ready to stock up, I highly suggest opting for one of the below. To see what made the cut, get some runway some inspiration, and, of course, shop my picks, just keep scrolling.

If you thought the matching-sweater-set craze was going away soon, I advise you to think again. In fact, designers seem to have doubled down on the trend, giving us even more new iterations for the coming season. It's all about long skirts, usually paired with cropped knit tops that show off a bit of midriff. I've already spotted this Fendi set, in particular, on a few Instagram It girls, but the overall two-piece theme isn't hard to come by at any price point.

Thanks to some of our favorite designers including Khaite, Jonathan Simkhai, and Altuzarra—just to name a few—cable knits are back in the spotlight and better than ever. While the silhouettes vary from brand to brand, they all send one similar message: Go big or go home. Whether you’re looking for a classic pullover, a cardigan, or a knit vest, come fall, your favorite brands will have you covered with chunky cables.

We first made note of the sweater-vest trend last September, and, well, I'll just say it: We told you so. Now that the fall runways have spoken, we can confirm that the knit is officially here to stay. The way to wear it for next season? Layered over a slim turtleneck à la Versace and Bevza or married to a long skirt per Coach and Jason Wu.
