30 Zara, H&M and Mango Items That Are Chic and Warm and Look Premium

Suddenly, it feels like winter. Gone are the days when I could quickly nip out of the house without a jacket or a considerable amount of knitwear, and it's time my puffer coat was taken out of storage to be put back into work. It's not technically "winter" until December 21, but many of us in the team are eagerly counting down the days until it's appropriate to wear our Arket beanies once more. My boot collection has been finally unboxed again, ready for action. The tights are on, the layers are piling up, and I'm 100% here for it all. And while I'm not one to endlessly buy new items every time a season rolls around, I do enjoy looking at new-in winter items—a lot. It takes a great deal of research to find the best coat or chicest cold-weather dress. There are so many different jumpers out there that it's actually overwhelming to know where to begin, and that's where my time spent scrolling will benefit you.

There are a few affordable stores that are embracing all things cosy and doing it very well. Zara, H&M and Mango are teeming with pieces that are warm, expensive looking and chic—aka the types of investment items you can quickly get use out of this winter but also for many winters to come. Below are some long-lasting shopping picks that are classic enough to weave into any year, whatever the trends. Keep scrolling to see the key items I'd recommend from the hundreds and thousands that are currently available…

H&M

H&M's boots are the best they have ever been this season.

This brown coat looks so luxe.

Everyone needs an oversized cable-knit—fact.

Shaggy fur often looks more expensive than glossier options.

The cinched waist makes this puffer a much more flattering silhouette.

I love belting a big knitted dress like this. It's always sophisticated.

Yep, they're going to work with everything I own.

The shape on this is really something to behold.

For all the knitwear superfans out there, cosy trousers are still trending.

If someone told me this coat was £1000, I would not be surprised. But it's far less.

Why do I not already own a pair of dark-green jeans? It seems like they would go with everything!

Pair these chic pants with a sweater for a comfier vibe.

Faux shearling is clearly a Zara speciality right now.

It feels a bit vintage and therefore timeless.

Shall we just make this story an homage to Zara knits?

The kind of warm dress you can still wear to a party.

This will never be out of fashion.

Can you tell I'm obsessed with finding the perfect pair of black boots?

This kind of teddy-bear coat has become a forever trend.

Faux-leather trousers are surprisingly comfy and versatile, you know.

Wear with a big jumper and chunky boots.

Quilted coats are trending, and this one looks so snug.

This does all the styling for you.

Very classy and in my basket.
