This Pretty Denim Trend Is Just as Cool as It Was in 2015

If you’re looking for justification to indulge in yet another pair of jeans, read on. Because regardless of how many iterations of a black skinny or dark-wash crop flares you already own, there’s room for a pair with a pretty or whimsical touch of embroidery to them. In the same way that a slogan updates and effortlessly transforms a plain white tee, a touch of embroidery gives a fresh spin to denim, especially as spring is just upon us.

We’ve noticed this trend simmering away for several seasons now, and it’s not going away. Blame it on Gucci (as with so many things we didn’t know we couldn’t live without until the must-have brand brought them to our attention), which produces the most exquisite and prolific take on crafted denim.

Florals are a favourite across many designers and the high street, but that doesn’t have to equal twee. Style with streetwear staples like a baseball cap and hoodie to give your look some edge, or experiment with a clashing floral top. Best of all, there’s an embroidered jean in every cut, so make your next mom/drainpipe/ kick flare (delete as appropriate) purchase a beautiful one. Shop our favourite embroidered styles below.

Don't overlook Boden for denim; its jeans are often a brilliant fit, and this navy floral embroidery is a touch of class.

These colourful branches add interest to a flattering boot cut jean.

What embroidered jean dreams are made of.

Pull these on with a simple white tee to evoke summer any time of the year.

If a mom jean is your go-to style, break out of the plain mould with this inspired ditsy pair.

These are screaming to be worn with a pussy-bow blouse and a pair of killer platforms.

Add edge to this eye-catching rose print with some grungy boots.
