This Is What an Editor Packs for a Winter Sun Holiday

It seems as though everyone (well, everyone on Instagram) was on holiday this February, sunning themselves on Maldivian beaches, sipping cocktails in Mexico or dining out in Dubai. For the first time, I'll soon be joining those smug masses and escaping the British drizzle in search of warmer climes. It might not be as swanky as the Maldives, but on Sunday I'll be heading off to the Canaries and my frazzled, post–fashion week brain couldn't be more excited.

As someone who doesn't love summer clothes (I'm much more comfortable in a chunky knit and trousers than a white cotton dress and sandals), I've found packing for a winter sun holiday pretty tricky. I resent having to buy a whole new wardrobe just for a week away. Instead, I plan to pick and choose a few key pieces which can supplement my pre-existing wardrobe. I'm thinking white jeans, floaty midi dresses and belted skirts—all of which can be adapted for the cold weather back home—alongside a couple of beach staples, such as Zimmerman's linen playsuit and Lisa Marie Fernandez's retro style belted bikini. Scroll down to see the nine pieces I want to add to my suitcase this February.
