This Major Jewellery Trend Actually Looks Expensive on the High Street

In our weekly Monday morning meeting, I noticed that over half of the Who What Wear team was wearing statement pearl earrings, and all of them were from the high street. These aren't neat Stepford-style strings of pearls, but big chunks of (faux) freshwater pearl with uneven surfaces that make each one feel more unique. Pearl jewellery has become the easiest way to give your look at 2019 refresh, whether with a pearl hair slide or hoop earrings with a drop pearl.

Mango is one of the best places for expensive-looking pearls this spring (the £13 hoops have been particularly popular in our office). ASOS has also thrown everything into this trend, as there are 101 results when I searched for pearl jewellery. The starfish earrings and gold drop earrings with a pearl stud, in particular, look so much more expensive than £8. Keep scrolling to shop our edit of the best pearl jewellery for under £20.
