Diana Vreeland's Sassiest Quotes for Fashion Girls to Live By

If you've never watched fashion documentary The Eye Has to Travel, then we suggest you do so immediately. At the heart of the story is the legendary fashion editor Diana Vreeland, who was, by all accounts, one of the most incredible and fascinating characters in this entire business.

Born in France, she moved with her family to New York after the outbreak of World War I. However, she moved back to Europe, this time to London, around 1929 with her husband and children, where she became friends with the iconic photographer Cecil Beaton, ran her own lingerie story near Berkeley Square in London and often went across to Paris to buy her suits from Chanel. But it was in 1936, when she moved back to New York, when she began her magazine career, starting at Harper's Bazaar as a columnist.

As if that weren't enough, she went on to discover Lauren Bacall, advise Jackie Kennedy on all things fashion and become editor of Vogue from 1963 to 1971. Seeing as she knew a thing or two about fashion, we've compiled some of her most incredible quotes and pieces of advice that you'll come back to again and again.
