The 9 Denim Trends You'll See Everywhere in 2017
While we will always love our skinny jeans and classic straight legs, it's also fun to be adventurous when it comes to denim, and this year's denim trends are more playful than ever.
The street style crowd has been playing with out-there jeans, including super-dramatic flares, pearl embellishments and ruffle-trim cropped jeans. Meanwhile, the denim jacket is back in a serious way, and there are two key ways to wear it this year.
On the flip side, if we had to name one brand or style that is dominating in 2017, it would have to be Re/Done—the likes of Kendall Jenner and Sienna Miller are inseparable from its reworked vintage Levi's, and they probably will be for some time to come.

Style Notes: If we had to name one denim brand that is dominating this year, it would have to be L.A.-based Re/Done, a company that reworks vintage Levi's. The patchwork jeans, as worn here by Lucy Williams, are one of the most-popular denim styles right now (Bella Hadid also has a pair).
Style Notes: If you've looked at any street style pictures recently, you'll have noted that the "fashion" way to wear a jacket now is half buttoned and falling off the shoulders. Patricia Manfield took this styling of her denim jacket one step further by tucking it into the waistband of her jeans—2017's take on the Canadian tuxedo.
Style Notes: One of the best-selling items in Zara right now is a pair of pearl-encrusted jeans. These are proving to be a big hit across the high street, with ASOS and Topshop also into this OTT embellishment. It's definitely one of those trends that was made for Instagram.
Style Notes: When it comes to coloured jeans, this year red is the most popular wash. We love Rachel Comey's cropped wide-leg pair, which look smarter than your average jeans, as worn here by Happily Grey.
Style Notes: The likes of Patricia Manfield and Aimee Song have worn high-waisted jeans with dramatic kick flares over fashion month in February. If you're looking to make a statement, these street style–ready jeans are for you.
Style Notes: Perhaps this one is down to Nancy Wheeler in Stranger Things, but shearling-lined denim jackets are hugely popular once again. The key to wearing them now is keeping them boxy and oversize rather than fitted.
Style Notes: At London Fashion Week, it seemed like everyone was wearing dresses layered over a pair of jeans. One of the best denim styles for this is a pair of straight-leg jeans with rolled-up cuffs like Anna Vitiello's. See how to cuff your jeans like a pro.
Style Notes: Just when you think the ruffle trend couldn't get any bigger, it extends to your jeans too. Cropped jeans with a kick-flare ruffle hem are all over the high street right now and are a more approachable version of the dramatic flares.
Style Notes: While we don't believe the skinny jean is going anywhere anytime soon, cropped kick-flare jeans are an everyday style that might just make you consider giving the drainpipes up now and then.
