Celebrities Keep Coming Back to This "Dated" Jacket Style

The UK's mild summer has meant that jacket season never really left this year. Instead, we went from thick coats to light jackets, without ever really having the chance to go layer-less. Though it's been a disappointing summer for our tank tops, we have had more opportunity to experiment with trending jacket styles this year than any summer before.

And there are plenty of jacket styles that have caught my eye. Bomber jackets have crept back up in popularity, and are now available in a sweeping range of colours and fabrics, whilst workwear-style over-shirts have taken residence in most high-street stores, and trench coats are back en masse after their summer hiatus. Another style that we can't help but pay attention to is the cropped jacket, which has firmly re-emerged.

Recently styled by the likes of Elsa Hosk, Sofia Richie Grainge and many others, a cropped jacket has proven to be a pillar in the wardrobe of celebrities who favour a "quiet luxury" approach to dressing. The cropped jacket lends itself to styling with high-waisted trousers or skirts, though some celebrities prefer to lower the waist line and pair them with low-rise jeans.

Whatever your preference, the cropped jacket is back and looking better than ever. Available from the likes of Me+Em, COS and Whistles, we'll be wearing cropped jackets for the remainder of the season (alongside the many other jacket styles we love), until it's time to bring out the thick coats once again.
