It's Sandal Season—These Are the It Shoes Every Fashion Person Is Wearing Now

Summer is finally underway, signifying the welcome return of my favourite time of year: sandal season. When it comes to individual style, we all have the pieces that excite us the most, but one thing we can all agree on is the power of a particularly good shoe, and whether you're a dress devotee or live in linen, as soon as the sun's out, we all reach for a sandal.

As a self-confessed shoe fanatic, I spend the better part of my days looking at shoes, trying on shoes and writing about shoes, and after reviewing everything from Adidas trainers to Gucci loafers, I can spot a shoe trend happening from a mile off. But when it comes to a summer sandal, there's one brand I always turn to for a runway-ready slip-on (and it isn't Crocs).

Chloé are no strangers to stylish sandals–after all, elevated, boho elegance is in the brand's DNA, and what could be more chic than an eye-catching flat shoe? From the C-logo slides to the classic Woody (along with a pair of SS'19 Croc-Effect Wave sandals that I haven't stopped thinking about since 2018), Chloé have given us plenty of great shoes to get excited about. Chic, playful and, most importantly, easy to wear, the brand has been cropping up on the feet of the most fashionable women over the last decade, thanks in part to stints from Creative Directors Phoebe Philo, Claire Waight Keller and most recently, Gabriella Hearst.

The more eagle-eyed among you may have spotted the latest styles to debut on the streets outside the Chloé S/S '23 show, and from the looks of the preferred pairs, the Woody in particular is set to become a viral success. This season it comes in nude mattes, neutral leathers, and pops of bold, bright colours (always with a noticeable logo), and fans of a heel will love the Woody Wedge and Oli Mule, in short–there's a style for everyone.

So, should you be looking for a sandal worth investing in, I've rounded up the very best Chloé pairs for your perusal. Wear them with jeans, dresses, skirts and wide leg trousers, or take notes from the street style set and add a printed mini. However you style them, these are the most stylish shoes to step out in now, and it just so happens that Chloé's Woody bag makes the perfect accompaniment.

Style Notes: Heels are back on the agenda, but before you dust off your stilettos, these are mid-height, block heels.

Style Notes: Mark your calendars, this is the return of the Woody (that is, if it ever left). But it is the fashion girl's flat sandal of choice when dressing down a midi.

Style Notes: The Gaile cut-out might technically be a boot, but its sold-out status goes to show, it made the perfect warm-weather shoe too.
