Sometimes it's a mystery how certain style stars and It girls actually make a living on what appears to be a career of dressing really well and posing in front of a camera. While having a blog is most often the starting point, nowadays bloggers are so much more than their URL. Case in point is Chiara Ferragni, who has built a digital empire from what began as The Blonde Salad. The blogger turned designer has focused much of her energy on her eponymous footwear and accessories line, Chiara Ferragni Collection, and her earnings from this business endeavour alone will make your jaw drop.
In the midst of a large brick-and-mortar initiative, the digitally native brand disclosed last year's revenue, revealing just how successful Ferragni really is. In an interview with Footwear News, Chiara and her brand's CEO, Andrea Lorini, said that "2016 revenues were about 17 million euros ($20 million USD). While physical stores are expected to drive further expansion, digital remains a huge part of the business. In June, for example, online sales were up 235 per cent, compared with the same month a year ago." Ferragni certainly knows about building a brand—just look at how she built her style blog into a personal brand boasting 10 million followers.
