Autumn's Cat Trend Has Gone Wild on the Streets

When Stella McCartney debuted pre-fall's pussycat-printed collection, we knew the fashion masses would go absolutely loco for it. When you consider how popular our furry friends are just within the confines of the busy hashtag #catsofinstagram, it's a no-brainer than when combined with excellent clothes and accessories, you've got yourself a winning formula. How did it not happen sooner?

Following the Brit designer's much-adored cat collection, the autumn/winter runways also picked up on felines as a fine fashion trend: Gucci emblazoned knitwear with pouncing panthers, Loewe's eclectic jewellery box included gigantic cartoon-like kitty necklaces, and we've seen leopard-print outfits galore.

With the streets of fashion week as the perfect catwalk (ahem), it's no surprise that the microtrend has been gaining space over the past few weeks: We've spotted black-cat novelty bags, Stella's illustrated silk dresses and plenty of Gucci sweaters in public, as well as more kitty-cat goods dropping into stores.
