A Day in the Life of H by Halston’s New Fashion Director

If you’re a fashion fanatic, chances are you’ve heard the name Cameron Silver. Thanks to his famed vintage couture boutique Decades, the American fashion historian practically changed the way women dressed in Los Angeles, not to mention that he served as a consultant for various big-name brands and houses, including Pringle, Costume National, and Hermès. To say the Los Angeles native runs in prestigious style circles would be an understatement.

This year, Silver is embarking on an exciting new career endeavour, that of fashion director of the H by Halston and H Halston brands. And after a move to New York and months of preparation, Silver is debuting his first-ever collection for the brand tonight on QVC at 10 p.m.! But first, an exclusive glimpse at Silver’s day leading up to the big show.

Officially a New York City resident, I stroll through Central Park each morning with a black coffee from Via Quadrono. It’s my version of ‘glamping.’”

“Coffee round two! This time iced. I love to support local businesses and I drink a lot of coffee. The Grind is my favourite spot near our West Side design offices.”

Heading into H by Halston design meetings. I’ve been reading about Halston all my life and devour every book about him to always keep me inspired.”

“I don’t leave home without hair spray, face spray (Clark Botanicals is amazing), mints, ChapStick, a book, and Handi Wipes for the subway. I spend most of my money at Juice Press, so there’s usually some goodie from there in my bag!”

In Silver’s bag: Dsquared2 bag (similar style here); Clark's Botanicals Cellular Lifting Moisture Mist ($45); Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray ($10); Juice Press Not Boring Granola; Lee Mither: A Life ($10) by Carolyn Burke; Eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm ($4) in Sweet Mint.
