Listen, there's been a bit of hate going around when it comes to Beyoncé and her fashion choices. Over at The New York TImes, fashion commentator Vanessa Friedman even penned an entire essay on why the pop star, though a living legend in the music world, is no fashion icon. To which we say: pish posh!
Beyoncé is a bona fide fashion icon in the first degree, and here's why: as first-hand witnesses to her the designer garb she sports during her and husband Jay Z's current "On The Run" tour, we can confirm that the star's style game is currently extremely elevated. Considering that she came from a fairly long period when she was wearing nothing but her mother Tina Knowles' handmade costumes—and now, she's wearing pieces custom-designed for her by the likes of Alexander Wang, Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, Donatella Versace, Diesel's Nicola Formichetti, and rising couturier Michael Costello (just to name a few), we think she's doing all right in the fashion department.

This weekend during her second show in Pasadena, California, Beyoncé debuted an all-red lace bodysuit designed for her by Michael Costello.
Throughout the run of the tour, Beyoncé has rocked another Costello-designed number, this black lace bodysuit with dramatic sleeves.
This mixed-print metallic bodysuit is another Costello creation.
All of Beyoncé's custom looks are embued with incredible details, despite the fact that most fans will sit too far away to see them.
Costello, a young American couturier, posted this collage of his designs for Beyoncé to his Instagram, commenting, "So EXCITED to see my designs tonight on @beyonce love @tytryone love today can't wait ! #thismoment #ontherun"
