You might recall that despite the fact that U.S. Vogue chose Beyoncé as the cover star for its coveted September issue, the pop star/flawless overlord of all of humanity denied to sit down for an interview. Surprisingly, she's now granted her first magazine interview since 2013, to a little-known indie magazine called Beat.
The full transcript of her interview will be posted today, but Beat has already teased us with a few gems from Bey's first sit-down interview in two years. When asked what fear tastes like, the queen responded fairly epically: "Success. I have accomplished nothing without a little taste of fear in my mouth." Yowza.
We also learned a few select factoids about Mrs. Carter that we never knew before:
• What she sings in the shower: "'Holy Ghost' by Kim Burrell."
• Which Beyoncé she'd dress up as for Halloween: "Destiny’s Child 'Survivor' era with the army fatigues. Or maybe 'Bootylicious' with the gold tooth and pink tips in my hair."
• What she prefers on her pizza: "Extra tomato sauce and jalapeños."
She also submitted to a creative shoot for Beat, including posing with a live chicken, which begs the question: Does that fowl even know how lucky it is?! Keep scrolling to see more shots from Beyoncé's new story for Beat, then head to the magazine's site today to see the full interview!
