You don't need to be a fashion expert to spot the pieces that will sell out first in Zara. Namely, because it's probably the pieces you're already most drawn to. When Zara launched its now-iconic polka-dot midi dress, I could tell merely by the number of people I saw pick it up in the span of the 3 minutes I was in the store that it was going to go fast. The same goes for the cardigan-and–crop-top two-piece that looks just like the one Katie Holmes wore. I bought it on the gut instinct it would sell out faster than cut-price Jimmy Choos. Once again, I was proven right.
And now, as we are poised to enter 2020, there's already so much new-in Zara goodness to be had. So much so that I decided to do a little experiment. I asked some of my fashion friends to tell me which Zara buys they thought would sell out first. And you know what? I think they're pretty on the money with their predictions.

JESSICA SKYE: TAILORING
"Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with tailoring, and I always find the best suiting in Zara. I'll be mixing and matching my blazers and trousers to create unique looks right through until spring."
STYLE IDEALIST'S KARINA: PUFFER JACKETS
"In 2020, I intend on making more of an effort to mix fashion with functionality—think more outdoorsy walks but keeping it cute. So the first thing on my list has to be a puffer jacket. I've avoided the trend for long enough, but Zara's new styles have convinced me to give it a go."
SARAH FERGUSON: OVERSIZED DRESSES
"Zara has created dresses that have the air of Cecilie Bahnsen but on a budget. These dresses are perfect for wearing year-round. Feminine and ideal for all those summer weddings on the horizon, they also loan themselves for winter, too. Pair with chunky boots for a real style juxtaposition."
SYMPHONY OF SILK'S LORNA: REFINED CASUALWEAR
"Now that we're heading into a new year, it's time to think about some pieces that can take me into spring and that can also be worn in different ways. The faux-leather top can be worn with jeans and also works well with double leather."
BUBBLY AQUARIUS' RACHAEL: ORGANZA DRESSES
"If it's organza and puff-sleeved, I find it impossible to resist. Zara has plenty of dresses that fit these requirements, so I know exactly what I'll be spending all of my Christmas money on."
