I'm a Trainer Obsessive, and These Are the 4 I Always Wear in Summer

Trainers are very much the kind of shoe you can wear all year round. But with a very rainy few months, plus the very long winter we had, I've not had much reason to put anything on my feet other than boots. When it comes to the summer, then, I'm pretty happy to delve into my wardrobe and reach for my beloved sneaker collection. True, plenty of us love to wear sandals non-stop when the very hot weather appears. But for those in between temperatures, trainers are perfect.

The question is, however, which ones are best for wearing with your summer dresses, skirts, and jeans? As someone who owns lots of different styles of trainers, I have narrowed down my favourites for the summer months. You don't need to own them all but if you're after a decent pair of sneakers for July onwards, we've got you covered. Keep scrolling to see the four best summer trainers.

1. Basic White Trainers

Basic white sneakers are very much the Ronseal of the trainer world. They are an evergreen trainer that looks great with jeans, linen trousers, and floral dresses.

2. Classic High-Tops

If you love the silhouette of your ankle boots, then high-tops might just be for you. My personal preference is a pair of Converse that I love with skirts and cropped jeans.

3. Dad Sneakers

Want something more directional? Good news, dad sneakers are still on trend.

4. Vintage-Style Trainers

A trainer that has been growing in popularity for some time is the vintage-style sneaker. Thanks to the likes of New Balance and Loewe, the retro runner is back. Pair with minimalist pieces for a cool summer look.
