The 3 Viral Outfits of Summer 2018: Did You Wear Them All?

As much as we herald Instagram as an eclectic treasure trove for personal style, it's inevitable that every once in a while, the sartorial stars will align and an outfit formula will click into place and capture the imagination of the fashion fan club. The result? Replication en masse. However, as our editorial director, Hannah Almassi, succinctly stated earlier this month, sometimes there's nothing wrong with being a bit of a fashion victim and jumping on the latest viral clothing item (or outfit). Really, it's no different to the evolution of fashion trends pre-internet, but instead of flicking through a glossy mag or browsing your local high street, you need simply open Instagram and witness the proliferation of a look through the fashion girls on the ground.

So what were the looks that got lucky this summer? Obviously, Réalisation's Naomi skirt had to make an appearance, thanks to its spectacular success amongst the fashion crowd. Brand of the year, Ganni, has also nabbed one our coveted top spots—specifically for its distinctive maxi dresses, which were commonly styled with sneakers (either Stan Smiths or Balenciaga Triple S trainers) and layered gold necklaces. Our third look is not defined by a particular brand, however, it is no less relevant. Championed by Ukranian fashion director Julie Pelipas, the "white jeans, cream top and brown belt" look has undoubtedly become the tonal outfit of the summer. Why? Because it's simple, easy to re-create and super chic. Scroll down to discover all three looks.

#1: White Jeans, Brown Belt and Cream Cami Top

Style Notes: Julie Pelipas and her stylish friend work the matchy-matchy look to perfection. We love the addition of gold hoop earrings.

Style Notes: Camille Charrière somehow managed to match her outfit to her cast and make it look chic. It helps that she's holding a Dior Saddle bag, of course.

Style Notes: If in doubt, go head-to-toe white. This minimalist look is instantly elevated with a Gucci logo belt.

#2: Ganni Dress, Chunky Trainers and Gold Jewellery

Style Notes: Who knew pink and green could work so well together? This Ganni number looks so cool with a boxy blazer and chunky trainers.

Style Notes: Alexis Foreman styles Ganni's sellout checked maxi dress with Céline's letter necklace and a pair of Adidas trainers. So cool.

Style Notes: Lou Hay adds edge to her pink Ganni maxi dress with a pair of Balenciaga trainers. Perfect for autumn.

#3: Réalisation Skirt, Denim Jacket and White Tee

Style Notes: Réalisation's slinky Naomi skirt paired with a bit of bleached denim and a white tee look great in the daytime.

Style Notes: Emili Sindlev's yellow-tinted sunnies make for an excellent addition to this festival-ready outfit.

Style Notes: The basket bag was another cult item this summer, and it works so well with the Naomi skirt and a denim jacket.
