It's probably sacrilege to say this, being a fashion editor and all, but I'm not really a jewellery person. I just don't feel the same excitement for a pair of dangly earrings or a statement necklace as I do for a new jacket or jumper. That's not to say I don't wear any adornment day-to-day. However, I tend to stick to one or two super-simple pieces that I'll pick out on a Sunday and wear every day for the following week. This means that the jewellery pieces I buy have to be versatile, be easy to wear, and, of course, look the part.
Luckily, there are so many brands around right now that cater to jewellery minimalists—think Missoma, Astrid & Miyu, and high-street brands such as & Other Stories. Delicate chains, streamlined hoops, and layerable rings make up the collections of these minimalist accessory brands, and I'll happily wear a pair of their simple hoops with a roll-neck and jogging bottoms at home and then with a nice top and jeans for dinner.
So whether you're looking for something to add to your jewellery arsenal or a fail-safe present for a friend, scroll down to see and shop the simple jewellery pieces I wear every day without fail.
