I usually only wear shorts on a beach, and I would never normally consider wearing them anywhere near an office, however, this year, I'm even surprising myself, as the one thing I really want right now is a shorts suit. If Miami Vice were to have a remake in 2019, you'd see people in sherbert-coloured linen shorts suits along the beaches—and I'm into it.
ASOS has just given me the heads-up that this is going to be one of its key focuses for summer 2019, with dozens of versions about to go online. I'm already pretty taken by the ones available now, as the stone-coloured slouchy suit and the grey checked suit are exactly what I'm looking for. Arket, Tibi and La Collection also have beautiful tailored shorts suits. The best thing about this purchase is that you can wear both items separately so you don't just have to save the blazer for summer.

Style Notes: One of the boldest ways to wear this trend is by wearing nothing underneath the jacket and adding a bucket hat.
Style Notes: Lucy Williams's linen beige suit is from last year's summer collection at Mango, and it looks amazing with an ivory silky camisole underneath.
Style Notes: For the beach, wear your shorts suit with a bikini top and espadrilles.
Style Notes: Tiffany Hsu pairs her pale blue Frankie Shop shorts suit with Louis Vuitton trainers and a white T-shirt.
Style Notes: This shorts suit is also from Mango, and I love how Monica Ainley embraced the "school uniform" vibe by adding a clip in her hair and sensible black leather shoes.
Style Notes: For a more '80s feel, go for a short suit with shoulder-length sleeves.
Style Notes: For a more relaxed look, opt for pyjama-style shorts and a short-sleeved shirt.
