The High Street Trend I Love This Spring

In the Who What Wear office, we often talk about the trends that scare us or those that don't fit in with our personal aesthetics. Some editors say they'd never try a baseball cap, others express a distinct phobia of knee-length Bermuda shorts. Me? Well, prior to starting my role here at Who What Wear, I vowed to never wear oversized puff sleeves.

Proportionally, I always felt a puff-sleeved top would drown me, and personally, the aesthetic felt a little over the top for my generally minimalist personal style. Who needs a statement sleeve? I thought to myself. Turns out, I do. Proving once and for all that you should never say never when it comes to fashion, lately, I've found myself coveting puff sleeves tops, particularly those found on the high street.

A few weeks back I saw H&M's very elevated new spring campaign imagery and immediately felt the need to add a puff sleeve blouse to my repertoire. Soon after that, I spotted a pink puff-sleeved button-down on Zara's product pages and that's when I was really sold on the trend.

Of course, the style set is already all over the trend, as editors and influencers were sporting statement shoulders all through last summer and into the new year.

I might be a little late to the party on this one, but I think we can officially call me a puff-sleeve devotee. Keep scrolling to see how influencers are styling the trend and shop high-street puff-sleeved blouses below.
