When I was growing up the Next catalogue was a source of great excitement. I would spend hours leafing through the kids' fashion section and relishing the many outfit possibilities that were presented to me on its colourful pages. In all honesty, I haven't given the brand much consideration over the last decade, as I often found that the stock in-stores never really spoke to me. Yet, 2020 seems to be challenging my preconceptions of Next, as I've spotted a few of their designs on Instagram looking undeniably cool.
I was initially alerted to the brand's design kudos when I saw a post by Jessica Skye, who modelled an incredibly cool gingham midi—and who was it by? None other than Next, well, its collaboration with Emma Willis to be exact. So, this week, I looked through Next's new-in collection and was amazed at how many winning staples were hiding there. Alongside many other gems from this collaboration (including an expensive-looking linen suit and classic white shirt), I spotted everything from expensive-looking dresses to clean-lined summer trousers.
At the top of my wishlist is the linen suit (obvs), a mid-length checked wrap dress, a cute statement-collar blouse and a '90s-inspired floral slip dress. Honestly, I lost count of the number of pieces I clicked on, but I managed to whittle them down to 19 summer-ready pieces that not only look the part but will also serve you for many seasons to come. Scroll down to see what I found. Happy shopping!
