I'm Totally Here for This Ultra-Flattering New Skirt Length

Spotted first on the A/W 17 catwalks and then all over S/S 18, the midaxi length made its wearable fashion wave at the likes of the Dior and Céline. Soon after, the high street was quick to jump on the bandwagon—as have a host of influencers. You can see them all in our edit of perfect midaxi-centric looks below.

As skirts go, there are few items more flattering and transitional than the humble midi skirt. From work to the weekend, its easy-going appeal certifies its place in every wardrobe. However, the midaxi is about to take its spot—especially when it's now also rendered in a slim-fit pencil silhouette for the season.

Slip Into Style's Ellie has opted for a slimmer pencil-skirt variation.

Still confused? Well, think of this hybrid hem as the midi's modest counterpart. The name comes from midi and maxi due to its in-between length. It's equally as wearable but more flattering. It finishes an inch or so lower than the midi but cuts you at the most flattering part of your leg (below the calf). Sold.

Anna and Florrie of And Finally have managed to find midaxi dresses at both Rejina Pyo and Topshop.

Right now we're teaming ours with trainers, low-key T-shirts and summer handbags. For winter, midaxi skirts look amazing with oversized knits and knee-high boots (very Victoria Beckham). Intrigued? Scroll on to see a style for every budget.
