Choosing a beauty product is always a personal experience. While it's my job to recommend the best makeup and skincare on the market, I always note that what works for me might not work for you. I've found, though, that of all the beauty products, mascara can be the most divisive. Ask your friend what their favourite one is and often you'll find that they found their own go-to and stuck with it religiously.
However, after celebrating the best-selling highlighter in America last week, I started to do a little digging into which beauty products were topping the beauty charts in the UK. After all, there's something to be said for an entire nation being obsessed with one specific product. First on my list? Mascara. And there's one specific beauty brand that the UK is utterly obsessed with when it comes to lashes…
Turns out that Benefit (everyone's favourite teenage beauty brand) delivers on way more than its iconic lip and cheek stains. Benefit is actually the UK's best-selling makeup brand when it comes to mascaras—and it's not far behind when it comes to brow products either. In fact, the They're Real Mascara has been the #1 best-selling mascara in the UK for the past few years. When it isn't in the top spot, it's usually only because it's been knocked off by one of Benefit's other two mascara formulas: Roller Lash or BadGal Bang.
Dubroff works on a whole roster of celebrity clients, including the likes of Margot Robbie, Priyanka Chopra, Elizabeth Olsen and Lily Collins. So basically, if this lady says that a certain mascara is worth using, it probably is.
"The formula is buildable and the brush separates as you comb through," explained Dubroff in an interview with HuffPo, "so you can get major length without that bulky or clumpy look. Two or three coats are all you need."
