Get The Look/Peter Som Fall 2007

Last September, we fell in love with the makeup Peter Som showed with his S/S 07 collection for New York's Fashion Week. After such great results, naturally we couldn't wait to see what Som had in store for F/W 07 and he did not disappoint! For his fall show, Som teamed up with esteemed make-up artist Gucci Westman (Lancome's artistic director) to create a gorgeous look for the season.

While reviewing fall beauty, we kept coming back to the lipstick at Peter Som. The rich burgundy shade is a fresh twist on the classic red lips seen at other shows and is a perfect compliment to all the grey clothing on the market. It turns out that this colour is the third instalment of Lancome's Pout-a-Porter limited edition lipstick series and will be available for purchase. The Lancome Colour Fever Lipstick in P.S. Kiss hits Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Lancome boutiques, and on October 1st and is retailing for $24. As the previous Pout-a-Porter offerings sold out (Proenza Pink and Behnaz), we suggest getting on the wait list immediately to ensure you get your mitts on a tube. Officially the list opens on September 1st, but according to the New York Times Sunday Styles section, you can get on the list earlier by calling 212.872.2740.

The overall look from Peter Som is all about juxtaposition- a bold, matte mouth against radiant skin. Westman started by applying Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Quartz to the models' skin as a primer. The Skin Perfector is a water-based moisturizer containing light-reflecting particles that act as a skin brightener. A smidge of Armani Fluid Sheer in 0 was used to highlight cheekbones and Westman used Lancome's Magique Blush in Pink Parfait for a romantic, natural cheek. Next she used the Couture, Vue, Daylight, and Positive eye shadows from the Lancome Colour Design Artist Palette in Couture Warms to add shine and subtly define the models' eyes. Eyelashes got a coat of Lancome's Courbe Virtuose Diving Lasting Curves Mascara in Black. Westman used her fingers to lightly tap P.S. Kiss pigment into the models' lips and finished off the desired matte mouth with a dusting of powder. Finally, she used a foundation brush dipped into a smidge of concealor to clean up any excess/stray lipstick around the lips.
