It's officially back-to-school season, and we couldn't be happier about it. Swapping pencil cases and rubbers for cardigans and boots, the grown-up fashion girl's guide to segueing into autumn is right here courtesy of our Insta-pals.
Over the past few days, a flurry of decidedly unsummery outfits have started to infiltrate our Instagram feeds from the UK girls we love most. Gone are the asymmetric floaty dresses, Santorini rooftops and ice cream IG photos we saw all summer. Now it's all rusty colours, cosy knits, closed-toed shoes and box-fresh blazers.
So as your mind will undoubtedly be turning to all things A/W 18, we thought it easiest to select a few of the best entry-point ensembles. Ahead, see a few simple looks you can throw together and feel brand-new in (without lamenting the loss of 28-degree weather and those shorts you really enjoyed wearing this past summer).
Keep scrolling to see the back-to-school outfits we're stealing from tomorrow onwards; then shop the key pieces to replicate them.
Style Notes: Jessie's relaxed look feels so approachable yet elegant with those little Manolo Blahnik mules and oversized clutch.
Style Notes: Ada has the Topshop boilersuit we're all obsessing over, but we love how she's styled it with a leopard-printed top underneath and bright-white boots—v. cool.
Style Notes: Sophia knows it's not coat weather yet, but it is cardigan weather. Thankfully, the cosy knits are back in business this season. We love the hippie stripes of this one contrasted with a minimalistic outfit underneath.
Style Notes: When in doubt, throw on a leopard-printed dress (snake, croc or zebra will also do, depending on your animal-print leanings) and simply add sneakers. Thanks for the reminder, Alex.
Style Notes: Could we be any more into this colour palette, the double snakeskin, the blue leather jacket or the chunky flats? The answer is no. Lucy Williams has kindly provided an entirely relaxed way to this season's '70s trend.
