Autumn/winter 2016 may be a veritable fashion playground for magpies and eccentrics, but there's a sartorial tonic to this madness that's far more suited to purists and minimalists: luxe, everyday clothes.
So we're not talking about your average, kind of expensive-but-boring basics here—this is all about taking those pieces many women trust and elevating, updating and pushing them into new and exciting, albeit subtly different, zones. For example, hours were invested into crafting the perfect double-breasted coat, where every button has been minutely analysed and selected for its merit to look chic and plush, without being shouty. Or how about the new ways to wear easy-peasy separates together to make them seem fresh? Fashion createurs have set some ideas for that this coming season too: big, long, louche, layered... these luxe everyday clothes comfort and cuddle you, rather than challenge and force you to feel restricted.
Fortunately for those looking to cleanse their closets and move in this direction, the right clothes and accessories are already heading into stores. You'll find a great new pair of black ankle boots (who doesn't wear those to death?) only they've arrived with a jumbo buckle for a point of difference. Or gold hoop earrings that will garner some Insta-likes and plenty of questions like, "where did you get those?" So scroll down to see the looks on the runways and then go through the gallery to shop for the best luxe everyday clothes you will (we promise) wear forever and ever.
