August is drawing to a close, and while we're nowhere near ready to get into tights and coats, we are (dare we say it) excited to start wearing jumpers, ankle boots and autumn/winter 2019's biggest trends. If you're bored with summer dresses and want to feel a little more festive, here are four autumn-weekend outfits that you don't have to wait until November to wear.
All four of these have layers that you can easily add and take away, so you can wear them this weekend and beyond. Our favourite outfit we've spotted on Instagram so far is Lucy Williams's grassy green slip skirt paired with a dark denim jacket and chunky, rubber-soled boots. We are also obsessed with Sylvie Mus's jeans, sandals and bustier paired with a Matrix-style leather trench coat.
Luckily for you, we've found an almost identical coat at Topshop. Keep scrolling to shop the autumn weekend outfits we can wear already.
1. Slip Skirt + Denim Jacket
Style Notes: Green is still a key colour going into autumn. Lucy wears the Whistles slip skirt with dark denim for a luxe daytime look.
2. Vinyl Trench Coat + Jeans
Style Notes: Sylvie adds a practical yet stylish layer to her otherwise quite summery outfit. The vinyl trench is a must-have for autumn/winter and is a lightweight option to add to any transitional outfit.
3. Pink Jumper + Black Mini
Style Notes: Jess Bush shows how to make the jump back into knitwear. Stick to bare legs like you would in summer and mix with an autumnal knit. Opting for a bright hue will make it work across seasons and will stop it from appearing too wintery.
Style Notes: Ellie layers a leopard-print Ganni midi dress with a clashing printed knit. It's the way to wear an easy to add or take off a layer while the weather is still unpredictable.
