5 Pairs of Cool Trousers to Wear Instead of Your Jeans

While our love for jeans runs deep (and yes, we know a pair of Levi's 501s can hug you better than your best mate can), we're committing our efforts to exploring some of the new and wonderful trouser silhouettes out there now.

Just like jeans, trousers are a year-round essential and something you should invest in without feeling guilty. To help you choose just which alternative pair is right for you, we've been doing a little digging into the trouser trends that have been flooding our Instagram feeds recently.

Kiss goodbye to your notion of trousers as part of "The City" uniform and get on board with all the unique styles on offer: A new wave of linen wide-leg styles will keep you looking and feeling cool during this bizarre/wonderful summer heat wave and will look chic layered over a swimsuit on holiday, for example. If casual is what you're after, a great pair of trackies can be thrown on for your weekly shop run or dressed up with stilettos and a blazer for a night out.

Thinking a chino might be the one? Double up the cotton and pair with an oversized crisp shirt for a more tailored look. Cargo pants have had a luxury revamp with designers like Sies Marjan and Valentino bringing them back for A/W 18. Perhaps sidestep the crop top à la 1995—it's all about simple vests and boxy T-shirts this season. Culottes are current (still, we know) and are super flattering for those with a shorter stature. Pair with classic trainers and you're good to go.

Go on then, have a little scroll and check out our favourite trouser styles to shop right now.
