We've Lost Count of the Number of Times We've Seen These Sneakers in London

Chunky, practical and decidedly "unsexy" dad trainers are the fashion trend no one saw coming. At first we dismissed them as a passing fad, yet, slowly but surely, the curveball sneaker style has proliferated at both ends of the fashion market—from Acne to Zara—and monopolised Instagram's most fashionable feeds.

If you're in need of further evidence of this cultural phenomenon, it's just been revealed that Alexander McQueen's oversized sole sneakers have hit the top spot on Lyst's "hottest women's products" for 2019. These chunky shoes are currently being searched for every two minutes on the e-commerce platform, and, over the past 30 days, there has been an additional increase in searches by 28%. The numbers don't lie.

Now we know this, we can't stop seeing the McQueen trainers everywhere we go in London—it seems as though everyone owns a pair. With their chunky sole and unadorned finish, they're the perfect sneakers to wear with everything from tailored trousers to floaty midi dresses. Scroll down to see and shop the style.
