Wait—Since When Did Zara Focus So Much on This One Shopping Section?

Emma Spedding

When it comes to high-street swimwear, most tend to lean on H&M or Topshop—I've never heard of a friend nipping to Zara for a pre-holiday lunchtime bikini dash. However, this morning, Zara dropped its new beachwear section, which made me ask my editor, "Wait, Zara does swimwear?" Hannah Almassi showed the extent of her Zara expertise by informing me that yes, it does, but swimwear was previously hidden in Zara's accessories section, making it easy to miss.

But something tells us this new beachwear section won't be overlooked for long, as it is answering all of our holiday prayers. Firstly, all the swimwear is under £30, which is an obvious big tick. On the website, Zara has styled the halterneck one-pieces with jeans, proving that these can also double as bodies and be worn in the city as well as to the beach. More and more, people are wearing their beachwear as part of their everyday summer wardrobes, and the straw bags and espadrilles in the collection would also look just as stylish with jeans and a shirt in Manchester, say, as they would in Mykonos.
