Vivienne Westwood’s Spring 2016 Show Sent a Political Message

Never one to play it safe, Vivienne Westwood took the opportunity to send a political message for her S/S 16 show. She started by holding a real-life protest with her models outside the venue and continued to share her sentiments through her designs. For example, in look 12, the model wore a top bearing the image of a footprint in order to send a message about climate change—a topic that is close to Westwood's heart. Other, more controversial looks had the models wearing pins that read, “politicians r criminals.”
