Meet the Fashion Buyer Who Always Starts the Biggest Street Style Trends

Emma Spedding

At fashion month, you tend to see the same outfit formulas over and over again—but there's one showgoer who always sets the agenda and stands out in every street style gallery. You might not know of MyTheresa's ready-to-wear buying manager, Tiffany Hsu, but chances are that you'll have seen at least one of her playful fashion week looks on Instagram, as she's one of the most photographed women in the industry.

Given that it is her job to decide which designer pieces are worth investing in, she has a strong track record of making trends and letting us know about cult buys first. Tiffany's style is all about proportion play and unexpected silhouettes—she was one of the first to layer dresses over jeans, and she has a weakness for cutout detailing or anything oversize and dramatic. She has access to all of the It pieces, such as J.W.Anderson's Pierce bag and heaps of Balenciaga, but she always wears them in her own way—she never re-creates a head-to-toe runway look.
