The Saint Laurent Show in Hollywood Was a Glam-Rock Masterpiece

Hedi Slimane’s men’s and women’s Pre-Fall 16 Saint Laurent presentation at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles (Slimane’s adopted hometown) last night was a celebration of the brand and the creative director’s love for music. In keeping with the vibe of recent collections his mostly unisex ’70s- and ’90s-inspired designs featured an abundance of sparkle and glam-rock flair. The women’s looks were decidedly feminine and modest, with midi-length hemlines, cinched waistlines, high necklines, and bell sleeves. With a front row that included Alexa Chung, Lady Gaga, Zoë Kravitz, Justin Beiber, and Jessica Alba, an afterparty featuring performances by Joan Jett and Beck, and a rare finale appearance by Slimane, it was an event that will be hard to top at NYFW, launching today. Watch the show in its entirety on Saint Laurent’s website, and keep scrolling to see some of the noteworthy Instagrams from last night’s show, along with a few of our favourite looks that came down the runway!
