Whoa: Ralph Lauren Is Stepping Down at Ralph Lauren

Big changes are in store for Ralph Lauren! The 75-year-old designer is stepping down from his position as CEO of his iconic all-American brand. The big-name fashion house, known for its preppy Americana and Western aesthetics, will now be headed by Stefan Larsson, who formerly held positions at H&M and Old Navy and is credited with reviving the latter brand.

But not to worry, Ralph Lauren devotees! The legendary designer says that he still plans to remain active in the company as the executive chairman and chief creative officer, calling his relationship with Larsson “a partnership” in an interview with The New York Times.

“When they start designing things I can’t understand,” he jokes, “I’ll quit.”
