I'm going to Paris for a couple of weeks and I don't want to look like a tourist
Visiting what may be the world's chicest city calls for three things: a dark or neutral-coloured base, a bright pop of colour via key accessories, and simple, flat walking boots. (The combination is very Clemence Poesy.) Look for items with minimalist silhouettes, like a draped or understated pair of shorts. A slim-but-slouchy t-shirt, perhaps in a muted print, and a striped top are always smart pieces to pack. A lightweight scarf is another essential, whether it's in a retro-inspired print or something that's a bit brighter. I'd also suggest adding the aforementioned pop of colour in small doses, like a vibrant belt, which would look so stunning with navy, grey, or nude. A colourful bag is another way to enliven your neutrals; just be sure to find something with an across-body strap. In addition to taking your favourite summer sandals, it's always good to have a pair of flat-ish ankle boots in your suitcase too. Whether they have buckles or are completely bare, they will work with skirts or black skinny jeans to give you some Parisian insouciance. Finally, I'd recommend bringing along a slim, cropped biker or moto jacket, though a cool leather vest is also perfectly acceptable. Just think of it as globally adored outerwear that always looks cool-something the Parisians appreciate!
