Raf Simons Exits Dior

Philippa Morgan Walker

Today, it has been announced that Raf Simons has stepped down from his post as the creative director of Christian Dior after three and a half years at the helm of the brand. Dior released a statement saying that the designer ‘reached this decision for personal reasons”, reported WWD. The fashion house is yet to announce his successor.

“It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work. Christian Dior is an extraordinary company, and it has been an immense privilege to write a few pages of this magnificent book.” Raf Simons shared in a statement released yesterday evening. He showcased the S/S 16 collection to the fashion industry underneath a mountain of flowers in the courtyard of the Louvre. What a stylish exit! The spotlight is now on the front door at the French fashion house. Watch this space.
