Naomi Campbell Has Some Thoughts on People Who Got Famous on Instagram

Meghan Blalock

You might be aware that there's this whole phenomenon happening in the world of fashion, modelling, and just in general: There are people who get famous from their Instagram accounts. Not based on a skill (like modelling), a talent (like singing), or even a borderline non-skill (sex tape).

The phenomenon has especially taken off in the modelling world, and supermodel Naomi Campbell has some thoughts about it. She went on The Meredith Viera Show to share her two cents.

"It's amazing," Campbell began. "I mean, good luck to them. I just feel my generation of women, like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Claudia [Schiffer], we had to earn our stripes and take our stepping stones to get to where we have gotten, to accomplish what we have achieved to this date.

"I kind of feel like, 'My God, we've worked so hard and we are still working at it, then it just comes like that for them.' But I sometimes believe easy come, easy go. So I am actually grateful for the way I had my career. I wouldn't want it any other way."

Like any wise woman, Campbell knows a dig is best served sandwiched in between two compliments. What do you think of people who've gotten famous on Instagram? Tell us in the thoughts below!
