This Maid In Manhattan Outfit Has the Power to Make You Instantly Look Expensive

When Meghan Markle wore a pristine white wrap coat to her engagement photocall, talk in our office quickly turned to Maid in Manhattan. The Jennifer Lopez rom-com might not be an award-winning film, but 15 years later, we are just as captivated by the star's all-white outfit. Lopez plays Marisa Ventura, a New York hotel maid who tries on a hotel guest's ivory Dolce & Gabbana coat, wide-leg trousers and cream roll-neck, which turns into the beginning of her romance with politician Christopher Marshall.

Nothing looks as expensive as an all-white outfit, as someone who manages to keep ivory trousers looking pristine and polished probably never eats pizza on the go or has to concern themselves with puddles and public transport. The key to making this look luxe, whether it's 2002 or 2017, is to ensure all pieces are cream or white—it just wouldn't be the same without a black roll-neck, would it?

Style Notes: Jennifer Lopez kept the accessories simple, only wearing a pair of simple gold hoops with her Dolce & Gabbana coat, trousers and jumper.
