This Denim Trend Isn't Traditionally Worn to the Airport

We have enough historical knowledge to realise that when Kirsten Dunst touches down in Cannes, good fashion things will happen. From the red carpet to casual-chic moments on the Croisette, she is the celebrity who perhaps flies most under the radar (no thigh-split, barely there dresses from this American actress, thanks), but she consistently produces the kind of outfits that we feel we could replicate. More than that, they're ensembles that we want to replicate.

Case in point: her departing airport look. Rather than adhering to the athleisure codes we've come to recognise with travel style, Dunst decided to hold to her Chloé-girl routes and opt for tailored denim flares paired with a billowing silk blouse. Many would opt for super-stretchy skinny jeans when jetting off, but this silhouette change feels slick and grown-up—and who says flares have to be worn with skyscraper heels anyway? Kirsten opted for low-heeled pumps and looked all the more insouciant for it.
